ESTAR/MSTAR Diagnostic

Elementary Students in Texas: Algebra Ready (ESTAR) and Middle School Students in Texas: Algebra Ready (MSTAR) Diagnostic Assessment

The ESTAR/MSTAR Diagnostic Assessment, designed to follow the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screener, is administered to identify WHY students are struggling with algebra-related core instruction, and provides information that can be used to plan supplemental instruction. 

To accommodate for late school starts and related issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fall administration windows for the ESTAR/MSTAR Universal Screeners and Diagnostic Assessments are being extended as follows:

  • Universal Screener – open until November 20, 2020
  • Diagnostic Assessment – open until December 4, 2020

The 2020-2021 Administration Windows for the ESTAR/MSTAR Diagnostic Assessments have been scheduled as follows:
Fall: August 31, 2020 - December 4, 2020
Winter: January 18, 2021 - February 28, 2021
Spring: April 26, 2021 - May 21, 2021
